RELATING TO CRIMINAL PROCEDURE — ASSET FORFEITURE

Creates a new chapter in the General Laws to standardize procedures for asset forfeitures for all crimes while protecting the powers of law enforcement to seize property suspected of being associated with crime, and preserving prosecutors’ ability to charge and prosecute suspected criminals,provides legislators with the information necessary for basic oversight of law enforcement agencies who seize and forfeit private property.
