Paul R. Genender Joins Advisory Board of the Wilson Center for Science and Justice at Duke Law
The Wilson Center for Science and Justice at Duke Law School is pleased to announce that Paul R. Genender (Duke A.B. ’91, J.D. ’94) has joined the Center’s Advisory Board.
Genender is a partner at Paul Hastings LLP, where he serves as co-chair of the firm’s Complex Litigation and Arbitration practice, chair of the Texas Commercial Litigation practice, and co-chair of the Dallas office. A seasoned litigator with decades of experience handling matters across a wide range of practice, Genender brings deep expertise in trial advocacy, governance, and strategic problem-solving to the Wilson Center’s Advisory Board.

Garrett, Faculty Director of the Wilson Center for Science and Justice. “We are honored to welcome him to our Advisory Board, where his insight, judgment, and dedication will help guide the Center’s efforts advance criminal justice and fairness through law and science nationwide.”
Genender is a graduate of Duke University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. in 1994 and served as notes editor of the Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law. He also holds an A.B., magna cum laude, from Duke. From 2013 to 2023, Genender served on the Duke Law Board of Visitors, reflecting his enduring engagement with the Law School.
In addition to his legal practice, Genender has held leadership roles across numerous civic, educational, and professional organizations, including serving as the president of the Alumni Board of St. Mark’s School of Texas, serving on the Board of Trustees and chairing the legal committee of Temple Emanu-El in Dallas, and receiving the President’s Award from Paul Quinn College for outstanding contribution and support of the school’s mission. He has also been widely recognized for excellence in litigation and the practice of law by Law360, The Legal 500, The Best Lawyers in America, D Magazine, and Texas Super Lawyers.
