Bio
Jessica Gettleman is a postdoctoral fellow at the Wilson Center, working on research related to accuracy of evidence and equity in criminal outcomes. She received her PhD in Cognitive and Quantitative Psychology from the University of Virginia, where she served as the Jefferson Scholars Foundation Hilliard Family Fellow. At the University of Virginia, she conducted research on eyewitness memory; specifically, she investigated factors that moderate the reliability of numeric and verbal expressions of confidence for same- and cross-race lineup identifications. She also earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice & Criminology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she studied competency restoration.
