Marcus Pollard is a Policy Analyst at the Wilson Center for Science and Justice, where he evaluates the reliability of criminal convictions using data-driven analysis of forensic testimony, evidence collection, and criminal legal procedures. His current work centers on improving police interrogation practices and assessing the use of colorimetric presumptive field drug test kits.
Previously, Marcus served as Counsel for Justice System Reform at the Southern Coalition for Social Justice (SCSJ). There, he developed initiatives to address educational disparities and negotiated policy reforms to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline. Marcus also worked with the Orange County Local Reentry Council where he advocated for equitable post relief policy.
Marcus received his J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law and his B.S from North Carolina State University.
